More than 1,000 trees were planted during the winter 2010 campaign in Bodhgaya ------------------------------

Plantation of trees on the-lands of the Mahanta of Bodhgaya(descendant of the spiritual and political authority at the time of the Maharajas) ------------------------------
Planting of fruit trees in 3 schools in villages around Bodhgaya in collaboration with Integral Rural Developpment Trust (Indian association sponsored by the Spanish) which has established schools locally and mobile clinics. The children received a little training on how to plant and protect trees then did practical work on the campus of their school and then received a tree to plant at home ------------------------------
His Holiness the Dalai Lama has blessed some of these trees and His Holiness the Karmapa has applauded the idea that next year, during the Meulam, each monk plants a tree with a wish ------------------------------
Green Bodhgaya - Plant a wish tree for the Planet ! 5 million tress in Bodhgaya

Green Bodhgaya is an initiative bringing together spirituality and ecology, that offers to all the Buddhists in the world and all people of goodwill, whatever is their tradition or their origin, to join the annual wishes accomplished by monks and nuns through offering trees for Bodhgaya and at the same time to make wishes for our world and all its inhabitants.


  • Environnement


    The irresponsible behavior of the humanity have precipitated the planet in an unprecedented environmental disaster, the sixth period of massive extinction of species.
    Scientific researches say that it remains 100 months to save the planet and stop the damages due to climate change, which otherwise will become irreversible. We can all help by planting trees for the planet.


  • Education


    Awareness raising and environmental education is fundamental to fulfilling the goal of this long term project and to perpetuate growth of the tree, Green Bodhgaya uses the tree planting as a “window” on the world to increase community’s understanding of our environment and to develop personal ability to take responsible action on behalf of the nature.


  • Spirituality


    We all know the power of wishes, when they come from our heart with pure intention.
    Planting a tree in Bodhgaya, by well-meant intention expressed through the form of wishes for the good of all beings and the Earth is a powerful and exemplary action that will contribute concretely for the interior and exterior harmony of our planet.
