Winter 2008 in India

During the winter 2008, a small delegation of the Green Bodhgaya team went to Bodhgaya for an exploratory survey of the area and its inhabitants.

Our first concrete action was to ask a blessing from H.H. the Karmapa for the first tree we planted.

This was accomplished on the 11 of January, full moon day. We planted it on the same day in the private meditation garden inside the Mahabodhi Temple, during the Kagyu Monlam when all the Monks were reciting the Bodhisattvas wishes.

We also did a survey of the existing NGO in order to determine the possible cooperation we could create

We met people from the Agricultural Department the area and scientist form the agricultural department of the Patna Universitiy and the Magdha University in Bodhgaya.

The Indian branch of the Green Bodhgaya has been registered as a Charitable Trust (Registered under Government of India Charitable Trust Act) under the same name, with indigenous people form Bihar.
